A company controlled by Michael Latifi, British Virgin Island-based Nidala (BVI) Limited will be making an investment of over £200 million. Mansour Ojjeh and Mumtalakat, the Bahrain sovereign wealth fund are the only other shareholders in the McLaren Group, which encompasses the Automotive, Racing and Applied Technologies divisions.

Michael Latifi’s son has made his Formula One debut in the year 2020 at Austrian Grand Prix. He has served as a test and reserve driver for Renault, Force India and Williams. Around a decade ago, because of some personal reasons, both Michael Latifi and Maria Helena Latifi committed their support to the launch of the visionary Women & Babies Program at Sunnybrook. Years later, the family got slightly more involved in their personal life when their son came home partway through his semester at university and revealed some troubling news. Because of this, the couple was not able to give much attention to the social work.

Eventually, it led them down a path which was both uncertain and overwhelming and it inspired the couple to put their support once again behind a new state-of-the-art Sunnybrook program. The program was concerned for the mental health care.

Adding to it, Michael Latifi’s has also founded a family-friendly golf tournament to raise the funds and this summer marks the 11th annual Sofina & Amici Golf Classic tournament. This tournament has raised more than $3.7 million. They believe in “grab-life-by-the-horns” philosophy and dedicate their success to the same. They have often used their own challenging real time experiences in health care to inspire their philanthropy.
